OTECH Skybridge in Ogden, Utah

Ogden-Weber Technical College (OTECH) in Utah serves over 7,500 students per year to answer the state’s growing need for workers with high-tech skills. With a flourishing campus and growing student body, greater accessibility is key to an improved learning environment. The construction of the OTECH Skybridge in Ogden, Utah, was completed in March 2026 by Northway Construction, a commercial general contractor in Utah, and addressed accessibility, density, and safety needs for the college without compromising on design.

The new skybridge links the second floor of OTECH’s Manufacturing Technology Building on the southeast side of campus with the pedestrian walkway that leads to the parking lot. The work included select demolition and structural steel erection, construction of the aluminum siding and new storefront, and interior finishes, fire sprinklers, and mechanical and electrical lighting and controls. Northway Construction partnered with Sanders Architecture and collaborated closely with the college to ensure a smooth process on this higher-ed project. The result is a clean, modern skybridge with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the nearby Wasatch Mountains from the east side. The structure reduces student foot traffic while complementing the building’s overall design.
